Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson did what any of us would do in making his first comments after being arrested at a nightclub.
He quoted Winston Churchill.
"A lie gets halfway around the world before the truth has a chance to get its pants on." WC- Adrian Peterson (@AdrianPeterson) July 8, 2012
Two minutes later, All Day followed with this:
Thank you for waiting for the facts. Truth will surface.- Adrian Peterson (@AdrianPeterson) July 8, 2012
Here's the truth as we know it: Peterson was arrested early Saturday at a Houston nightclub on a charge of resisting arrest. He spent the rest of the night in jail and was released on a $1,000 bond at 10:14 a.m. CT.
Houston Police Department spokesman Kese Smith told NFL.com and NFL Network that Peterson allegedly pushed an off-duty police officer who was working security at Live! at Bayou Place.
While the truth gets its pants on, it's worth noting the incident was reportedly captured on one or more surveillance cameras inside the club. Up with the zipper, out with the facts.
